Canopy Firearms Training CCW
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
At Canopy we will assist you with the application process for your county or jurisdiction.
Canopy will instruct you under the NRA CCW course standards. This standard meets all requirements for a California CCW.
All Classroom Training will be held at the Canopy Training Center

Range Qualification will be held at the Sacramento Gun Range

What to bring:
- Gun/s that you will be qualifying with.
- At least 3 magazines for semi auto and at least 2 speed loaders for revolver.
- Correct holster for each gun (holster must cover the trigger guard).
- Magazine pouches (optional).
- Safety / shooting glasses and ear protection.
- 150 rounds of ammunition per gun (bring extra just in case).
- Class will be held rain or shine. No open toed shoes or low cut shirts.

THE JURISDICTION YOU APPLY IN RETAINS THE ABILITY TO APRROVE OR DENY YOUR APPLICATION
Proof that the person applying is of good moral character
Proof that good cause exists for the issuance
Proof that the person applying is a resident of the county or a city within the
county or spends a substantial period of time in the applicant's principal place of
employment or business in the county or a city within the county.
Proof that the person applying has completed, at least, a 16-hour course of
training including instruction on firearm safety and the law regarding the
permissible use of a firearm
Proof of no statutory prohibitions

SECURITY TRAINING
Guard Card
This course is an 8-hour training class. The State of California’s Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) requires every Security Guard/Patrolperson to be licensed before being allowed to work as a Security Guard/Patrolperson.
ARMED GUARD TRAINING/ REQUALIFICATION
This course presents the current BSIS Firearms Qualification course mandated by state law before a licensed security guard can legally carry an exposed firearm.
This is a 12 hour course of classroom instruction and 4 hours of range instruction/shooting qualifications, with emphasis placed on avoiding deadly force, current laws, BSIS requirements, shooting stance, grip, target alignment, sight picture, firearm maintenance, and reporting.

Personal self defense training / self rescue
O.C. Spray Training
This is a 4 hour course, including 2 hours of classroom instruction and 2 hours of demonstration and practical application with a full exposure to an O.C. chemical agent, an arrest exercise while affected by the agent, and decontamination efforts.
Non lethal home defense
This is a 2 hour introductory course for a non lethal self defense weapon. This course will teach you the operational aspects of this type of self defense weapon and how to fire it. We can also assist you in ordering one should you choose.

Bob founded Langley’s Karate School in 1999,where he served as Owner and Chief Instructor until 2012 and currently resumes this role since 2023. He holds numerous black belts and certifications, including a 5th-degree black belt in Kenpo Karate and Iron Dragon Kosho Shorei, and various ranks in other martial arts disciplines. Additionally, he is a certified firearms and security instructor with credentials from the California Department of Justice and the NRA.
